Associazione San Giorgio Martire di Sydney was established by a group of migrants from Martone, Reggio Calabria, Italy seeking to celebrate their traditions, faith and culture with the community. Since 1976 the Association has been bringing families and friends together in celebration and is committed to maintaining and sharing these traditions and culture with future generations.
Associazione San Giorgio Martire Di Sydney is a not-for-profit organisation that was established in Sydney in 1976 by a devoted group of migrants seeking to maintain and foster in Australia the religious activities, culture and traditions from their home town of Martone, Reggio Calabria, Italy and the celebration of San Giorgio the patron saint of Martone.
The Association holds many events throughout the year, including the San Giorgio Festival, and encourages and promotes the maintenance of Italian traditions, cultural and religious activities amongst people of Italian heritage and their families and descendants in Australia.
